Policy on the Prevention and Handling of Violence and Harassment

SHOWOOD I.K.E. implements the measures provided under Part II of Greek Law 4808/2021 for the prevention and handling of any form of violence and harassment at work, including gender-based violence/harassment and sexual harassment.

The purpose of this policy is to prevent and combat any form of discrimination on the grounds of personal characteristics and choices, as well as any violence and harassment occurring in the course of work, in connection with work, or arising out of work.

Zero-tolerance commitment: The Company recognises and respects every employee’s right to a working environment free from violence and harassment and does not tolerate any such conduct.

Scope of application

Articles 9–10

This policy is adopted pursuant to Articles 9 and 10 of Greek Law 4808/2021 and the relevant delegated legislation.

It applies to the Company’s management and members, as well as to employees and collaborators irrespective of the contractual relationship, indicatively including:

  • Employees under an employment contract (dependent employment)
  • Service providers under mandate, works, independent services and temporary employment arrangements
  • Personnel engaged through third-party service providers
  • Trainees and apprentices
  • Individuals whose employment relationship with the Company has ended
  • Job applicants
  • Any other persons transacting or cooperating with the Company

A. Prevention & Handling

Zero tolerance

The Company conducts an assessment of risks related to violence and harassment at work, taking into account the nature of the activity, the workplace and role, factors such as gender and age or other protected characteristics, as well as risks concerning specific groups of employees (e.g., newly hired personnel).

Preventive measures & awareness
  • Measures for prevention, control, limitation and management of relevant risks.
  • Monitoring of incidents/behaviours with confidentiality and respect for human dignity.
  • Promotion of a healthy workplace climate (respect, cooperation, mutual support).
  • Information actions and targeted meetings for early identification and mitigation of risks.
  • Participation of management representatives and employee representatives in training on recognising and managing such risks.
  • Regular evaluation of the effectiveness of actions taken.

Any affected person may seek judicial protection and/or address competent authorities, including:

Person of reference (Liaison)

The Company appoints as liaison person Ms Giovanna Tsiori, to whom employees may address matters related to the prevention and handling of violence and harassment at work (+30 210 24 78 811kataggelies@showood.gr).

The liaison’s role is informational and guidance-oriented and includes an obligation to safeguard any personal data that may come to their knowledge.

Support for victims of domestic violence: Where reasonably feasible, the Company supports employees who are victims of domestic violence through appropriate measures and reasonable accommodations (e.g., flexible working arrangements upon request).

B. Complaints procedure

Confidentiality

The Company ensures safe and easily accessible communication channels for the receipt and examination of complaints/grievances related to behaviours of violence or harassment.

How to submit a complaint

The competent person for receiving, examining and managing complaints is Ms Giovanna Tsiori. Communication is made via kataggelies@showood.gr.

At any stage, the affected person is informed of their option to also submit a complaint to the competent administrative and/or judicial authorities.

Investigation & confidentiality safeguards

Receipt, investigation and management are conducted promptly and impartially, with due respect for human dignity and with safeguards for confidentiality and personal data of both the complainant and the reported person.

Prohibition of retaliation & measures

The Company complies with the prohibition of retaliation (Article 13 of Law 4808/2021) and, where a breach is established, it adopts necessary, appropriate and proportionate measures, including (indicatively) a compliance notice, reassignment, change of working hours, change of workplace or manner of work, or termination of the employment/cooperation relationship, subject to the prohibition of abuse of rights under Article 281 of the Greek Civil Code.
